UK trio Foreign Beggars to perform 2 shows in BC: Feb. 23 & 24

UK trip Foreign Beggars are bringing their act to British Columbia this month as part of their North American tour. The London-based group will be performing two shows on the West Coast including this Friday, Feb. 23 inside Kelowna’s Sapphire Nightclub (tickets), and then Saturday, Feb. 24 inside of Nelson’s Bloom Nightclub (tickets).

The tour comes in support of the group’s new project, 2 2 Karma, which was released on Feb. 9 via Par Excellence.

“New cut ‘Bosh’ through, is pure Foreign Beggars. That rock solid beat acts as a superb anchor, while the delivery – slick, stylish – masks rhymes that move a little deeper.” – CLASH MAGAZINE

With nearly two decades as flag bearers for the electronic / hip-hop crossover sound, UK trio Foreign Beggars boast five full length albums, a top ten hit, and collaborations with world-renowned artists including Skrillex, Knife Party, Tommy Lee, Noisia, D’onaeo, and more. Showing no signs of slowing down, the group are now embarking on the release of their new sixth full length studio album titled 2 2 Karma.

Out today via Par Excellence, the album features previously released tracks “Bosh” Ft. Marcello Spooks and Bangzy, and “Waved” Ft. Flux Pavilion, OG Maco, and Black Josh. Representing one of their largest undertakings to date, 2 2 Karma features 12 tracks and 20 artists including Alix Perez, Prime Cuts, Kate Tempest, Bionic, Scott Garcia, Afronaut Zu, Bangzy, Izzie Gibbs, Dizmack, Ivy Lab, Black Josh, Lord Laville, Kojey Radical, Marcello Spooks, OG Maco, Flux Pavilion, Feed Me, Hyroglifics, Dagnabbit, and Josh Bevan.

A truly global production, 2 2 Karma sources influence from a myriad of genres from around the world thanks to each member’s multi-national upbringing. “Each of them pulls from a different well of musical appreciation,” describes Billboard, “and that leads to the group’s wild mix of rave and bass, metal and grime, “boom-baps” and weird trap. Hell, they’ll play country in the studio if you let them.” Covering topics ranging from racial inequality to technology’s social effects, Foreign Beggar’s timely 2 2 Karma acts as a modern opus for the group that leaves no socio-economic issue untouched.

Since their formation in 2002, the group comprised of two MCs and a producer, have shown a spotlight on the UK’s burgeoning underground hip-hop scene and succesfully taken that sound from a niche genre to an internationally thriving chart-topper. Via their previous five studio albums, (Asylum Speakers, Stray Point Agenda, United Colours Of Beggattron, The Uprising and I AM LEGION with Dutch production wizards Noisia) the group has clocked in landmark achievements from top ten singles, to over 80 million views on YouTube alone, releases via Deadmau5’s Mau5trap, Skrillex’s OWSLA, and Zomboy’s Never Say Die Records, to world tours that have included live show performances at leading festivals included Glastonbusy, Stereosonic, Electric Daisy Carnival, SXSE, Shambhala, and more.

You can catch Foreign Beggars live in North America this spring in Canada, Salt Lake City, Santa Fe, Phoenix, through March, and more dates soon-to-be announced for July.
