Hasta La Vista: Eazy John$on shares new video & wants you to turn up

Milton-based artist Eazy John$on puts you in the mood to vibe out in the latest video release for “Hasta La Vista,” which was one of the catchiest tracks of his debut solo tape Lifestyle (Mode De Vie) that dropped back in January.

The video sees Eazy flexing on the streets and cuts to snippets of him turning up with his crew during a live performance. The Maryland-born artist lives up to his word when he describes his style as “wanting people to turn up and have a good time.”

The melodic and intoxicating production on the track is courtesy of in-house producer (and singer) Dallas Hill.

Since the release of Lifestyle, Eazy has been putting out a series of spacey, feel-good tracks with his weekly #EAZYFRIDAYS releases.

Eazy is also one-third of the Milton-based collective Rich Rolling Rebels with fellow members including rapper DRE! along with Hill.

We managed to get to know Eazy better by asking about his come-up and influences. It’s clear that the young, up-and-comer has plenty more music in the vault so expect to hear some crew-anthems in the near future. Watch the video below and check out our Q&A session with Eazy.

HipHopCanada: How would you describe your style?

Eazy John$son: I would describe my music to be above all – fun. I want people to be turning up and having a good time. I like to rap over these kinds of melodies.

HipHopCanada: Do you think being out of Milton has influenced your sound?

Eazy John$son: No. I ain’t from there. I’m from Maryland. Milton is a place where I rest my head. My influences come from Maryland, L.A and Atlanta. The only things in Milton that influence me are my fans.

HipHopCanada: How did Rich Rolling Rebels come together?

Eazy John$son: Rich Rolling Rebels formed naturally because Dre! and I grew up together listening to music. In our last year of high school we met Dallas off of hearing him make songs on beats – all around the same time me and Dre started rapping. After listening to a Nipsey Hustle song the name Rich Rolling Rebels was formed.

HipHopCanada: Has being part of a collective helped you grow as an artist?

Eazy John$son: Yes for sure. Being a collective keeps us pushing to be better. Rap is a competitive sport so it’s all about pushing to get better.

HipHopCanada: What was the creative process behind your solo project Lifestyle?

Eazy John$son: When we first started lifestyle the idea was to get a different melodic sound – Out of the norm. I think the first four songs showcase that.

HipHopCanada: Are there any specific artists or producers you’d like to work with?

Eazy John$son: I want a song with Ross and Keef. I want to work with Wiz, Rick Ross and Drake.

HipHopCanada: What are your plans for the second half of 2017 and beyond?

Eazy John$son: To get ignorant. Drop videos, more music and more content.
