HipHopCanada’s Ajani Charles opens The Expanse art exhibit in Toronto on Dec. 3

HipHopCanada’s own Ajani Charles will be opening his art exhibit called The Expanse this Saturday at Gallery C.C. in downtown Toronto (627 Queen Street West). Ajani will be showcasing surrealistic, digital illustrations along with some abstract, architectural photographs. It will also feature work by a Toronto-based (guest) artist named Meghan Janushewski — a visual artist that Ajani has worked with on numerous occasions and someone he regards as “one of the most talented and versatile creative minds in Canada.”

Aside from being an incredible artist, Ajani knows how to throw a great party. The opening will feature at least six DJs spinning throughout the night along with live performances by DJ Combo and acclaimed DJ collective DaFunky Situation, and more. To top it off, there will be a magician/illusionist showcasing his own talents. The event will be raining money for families in The Philippines through an organization that Ajani works with known as Peace Quest. Last but certainly not least, there will be free food and drinks provided by one of the event’s sponsors, the Mill Street Brewery.

The doors open at 6 p.m. and the event will carry through past 2 a.m. The entrance fee is $10 at the door (after 10 p.m., with a percentage of the fee going towards Peace Quest). Ajani recently announced that he has dedicated the event to his friend, mentor and colleague, Edward Scott Day (Founder of Abort Mag) who recently passed away.
