Vancouver artist Immerze recently teamed up with Brandon Gregora for this brand new track titled “Go” off the forthcoming Momma Knows I’m Trappin project.
Produced by Zlender, “Go” is a much different look than we’re used to seeing from Immerze. It’s got a much spacier, laid back vibe to it. But on the flip side this is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Immerze on the lyrical side of things. It’s a song about the hustle – the real life hustle. In both his personal and professional life, Immerze is constantly juggling a bazillion things. His life is literally “Go! Go! Go!” all day, every day.
Immerze was first introduced to Brandon Gregora by Brevner at his birthday. While working on “Go” he had a very specific melody in mind for the hook that he couldn’t quite get on his own. So he sent the track off to Brandon, and Brandon locked it down right away. Check out “Go” below, and scope our exclusive Q&A session with Immerze.

Q&A: Immerze
HipHopCanada: Start off by telling me what this song means to you, personally.
Immerze: This song is just the calm before the storm with my artistry, I’m charged up.
HipHopCanada: From what I know about you, your life is constantly “Go! Go! Go!” and you juggle a lot of different things – being a father, working, making music, and everything else in between. How has this been good for you, and how has this been bad for you?
Immerze: Yes! It’s been really good [because] it’s taught me the art of balance and how important time is. And bad in the sense there’s just never enough time
HipHopCanada: Tell me the story behind how you wound up collaborating with Brandon on this one.
Immerze: Well the broski Brevner introduced us at my birthday. I got a good energy from him and wanted to link up on a joint when the time comes. The first cut was me singing the hook but I felt “Nahhh! It ain’t coming out how I hear it!” Then hit up Brandon and he sent me back what I did ASAP Rocky! And the rest is history!
HipHopCanada: You mentioned the other day to me that you almost considered quitting the rap game entirely. What happened?
Immerze: Ahah. Basically just the cycle of a mad man artist. I feel like most of my peers that put everything on the line feel like saying “F**k all this!” at least once a day. Or when things ain’t going accordingly. But never the less. I’m mentally back forever.
HipHopCanada: This song has a much spacier, laid back sound than a lot of your other recent releases. Was that switch in vibe an intentional thing?
Immerze: Yes! Very intentional! Lately I’ve been making records and just doing the most to get out of my comfort zone but never forcing it. And this record is just showing and proving that! Momma Knows I’m Trappin drops July 20th and my other EP, A Traffic Jams (produced entirely but Stuntman), drops late August!
