Joyner Lucas announces plans to form a ‘rap super group’ with NYC’s Grafh as the first addition
Star rapper Joyner Lucas, who is set to awarded the Worcester, Massachusetts “Key to the City” tomorrow afternoon, recently announced he was in the process of building a supergroup. The “I’m Not Racist” rapper posted that he’d be revealing one group member at a time, beginning with New York City rapper, Grafh.
“I decided to form a super rap group and we are are going to take over the world… I’m announcing 1 group member at a time. Let’s start with your worst nightmare 😈 GRAFH” – Joyner Lucas
The announcement was tweeted and then subsequently deleted by Lucas, but not before being screen-grabbed by one of his followers. Adding to the likelihood that he was being serious, Grafh retweeted the screenshot.
There’s already discussions about who the other group members will be.
“Names like Hopsin, King Los, and Royce Da 5’9″ have all been thrown into the mix,” HotNewHipHop’s Mitch Findlay wrote.
“With many assuming that — like Slaughterhouse before it — Joyner’s unnamed group will be a lyrically focused one.”
Certainly an intriguing start to the year for Joyner Lucas and Grafh fans, although it remains unclear as to why the original tweet was deleted. Stay tuned.
Lucas is currently promoting his Oct. 2020 album, Evolution which is available on Spotify and other digital outlets (via Twenty Nine Music Group).
