With just over 10 days until the release of his new EP, Vancouver’s own Kresnt is back with another single. This time the Afghani-Canadian artist teams up with Brooklyn-born ATL rapper and singer, Nessly, who released his Wildflower project through Republic Records in March. Nessly has also worked with Canadian artists like KILLY, Night Lovell and SAFE.
Produced by 40K, “Zone” follows Kresnt’s previous singles including “Down For You,” and more recently “In Your Place,” which received visual support just a week ago. The Raphael “Zectrix” Regis-directed video has already been viewed more than 100K times.
“Nessly works very hard and made sure to deliver a dope ass verse.” – Kresnt
Further to that, Kresnt is starting to see an increase in support from popular Instagram profiles and YouTube channels, giving THE Lunar Phase EP a huge promotional boost in advance of its Apr. 27 release date.
“Zone” has a bit of a quirky, dark feel to it that really grabs a hold of you from the first drop. It also shows how versatile Kresnt can be, providing a nice range of styles from one single to the next. Nessly was the perfect fit for the latest.
“Nessly works very hard and made sure to deliver a dope ass verse,” said Kresnt during a brief text message exchange about “Zone.”
And to think… we’ve come this far into the post without even mentioning the super-slick animated arcade visuals serving as the song’s backdrop on the YouTube upload. Make sure you check that out below. It’s available now exclusively through YouTube on the Coffee and Banana channel.
You can pre-save THE Lunar Phase on Spotify, and pre-order it on iTunes.
