At only 23, Vancouver-based musician/creative Dkay of the Leftside Collective has proven himself to be one of the most promising forces that is currently coming out of the West Coast. Following the premiere of the audio on Sirius XM, Shade 45, “Dáme” is the first visual release from the artists’ forthcoming EP, Rudeboy which is set to be released this coming summer. With a provoking Spanish translation of “give it to me,” and a noticeably charismatic hook, the track is sure to be a favourite of summer 2017.
The Brandon Ng-directed video follows Dkay’s navigation of advances from a multitude of female interests after using an alluring scent. Dkay’s confident bars warrants a closer look at the developments of the Lefside crew, and their collaborations between fashion and music on the West Coast. Something tells us this won’t be the last we hear of Dkay this summer.
