Maestro Fresh Wes has dropped new FLX VSN-powered visuals in support of his latest album, Champagne Campaign.
The Lord Finesse-produced “You Don’t Know Me” features Saukrates and Natasha Waterman on the hook, while Maestro delivers some heartfelt bars over a funk-fused rhythm.
“You Don’t Know Me” starts off with Finesse stating “Maestro’s like a Canadian Super Hero out here.”
Although this is the first time Wes has connected with The Funky Technician, he has collaborated with the legendary DITC (Diggin’ in the Crates) crew before. He recorded four tracks produced by Showbiz back in the 90’s, and did some studio work with Big L and Kid Capri doing background vocals for the track “Hard To Kill” off Showbiz and AG’s debut album, Runaway Slave.
2019 commemorates the 30 year anniversary of Maestro’s debut album, Symphony in Effect. We recently caught up with the Godfather about the milestone and the release of his new project:
“I wanted to do a dope record, so I looked at these past game changers—Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Rolling Stone’s Tattoo You, everything produced by Quincy Jones who went from doing jazz records to making disco records for Michael Jackson, The Guess Who even.”
