Peter Jackson to drop new Raptors Playoff anthem with Karl Wolf

To celebrate clinching the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, Peter Jackson is preparing to unleash a new Raptors Playoff anthem.

Peter Jackson to drop new Raptors Playoff anthem

The Toronto Raptors have clinched their fifth divisional title and will be the No. 1 seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoffs. It’s the first time in franchise history that they’ve cliched the top spot in their conference, securing it with a 92-73 win over the Indiana Pacers this past Friday.

To celebrate the win, 9-0-Nickel Entertainment CEO and recording artist Peter Jackson is planning to release his latest Raptors Playoff anthem on Thursday, Apr. 12, two days before the post-season gets underway. If the team makes it to the finals, they’ll be playing deep into May.

“Arguably the best bench in the NBA, and 33 home wins so far. I like our chances.” – Peter Jackson

The new song – which follows his last tribute, “Rap City” featuring Michael Mazzé – will be a collaboration with Karl Wolf, and produced by the official Raptors DJ, 4Korners. It’s expected to be called “North Over Everything,” which aligns with the team’s new official slogan.

Aside from the team’s Global Ambassador, Drake, Jackson is one of the biggest supporters of the lone Canadian franchise, and has put in more than his fair share of work to rally the troops (fans) when the team needs it the most.

The 2016-released “Rap City” was heavily embraced by the time and even received video support from Sportnet staples Tim & Sid. It followed the 2015 tribute “We The North,” and the David Neale aka Dmajor-produced “Welcome to Jurassic Park” which was released in 2014.

Fans are feeling great about the Raptors’ hope for success this year, and Jackson is definitely right there with them on the optimism:

“I’ve been a Raptors fan since they came to the city, and this feels like it’s going to be our best run. Arguably the best bench in he NBA, and 33 home wins so far. I like our chances.”

The NBA Playoffs run from Apr. 14 to May 28. If the Raptors make it to the Finals, expect to hear A LOT of this record. At this point, Raptors fans will be expecting PJ to come with some heat in support of the team, and you know he’s going to make sure he doesn’t disappoint.

We’re excited to see what he’s coming with, and if the Raptors can bring the title home to Toronto. Stay tuned!
