Peter Jackson is often referred to as the hardest working rapper in Canada. Known for his intense work ethic both in the studio and on the road, Jackson has spent the last several years touring Canada with artists such as French Montana, Juicy J, Waka Flocka, Jadakiss, MGK, Wu-Tang Clan, and more. Some of his highlights include opening for 50 Cent at the Calgary Stampede, appearing as the official sponsoring act for 18+ stops on Akon’s 2016 Canadian Tour.
This May, Jackson adds another appearance to his impressive list of credits, guest performing at Snoop Dogg and Friends 25th Anniversary of Doggystyle at Rebel in Toronto.
“I’m super excited about doin these upcoming stadium shows with Snoop Dogg,” said Jackson of the upcoming gig with the Doggfather.
“He’s someone I grew up listening to, so getting a chance to build and work with someone I looked up to at a young age is extremely dope. Very excited.”
Jackson’s latest project, Canadian Boy recently went number one on the iTunes Canadian Hip Hop charts, and he’ll be featured (with Merkules) on Gucci Mane’s Live In Canada Tour 2019 tour kicking off in Halifax on Wednesday, May 15 and running through Friday, May 31 in Winnipeg.
And after wrapping up a Canadian tour with Fetty Wap, Peter Jackson will join him again, this time on a 22-city European tour.
In 2017, Jackson’s single “On a Wave” broke the top 30 at CHR Radio in Canada and the top 40 on Billboard’s Top 100. During the Toronto Raptor’s 2015-16 Playoff run, Jackson spent five weeks on the Billboard charts with his “We The North” anthem, while appearing on all of the major Canadian news networks to perform and promote it.
Jackson has also seen US success with his “Can’t Get Enough” record featuring Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P of The Lox. “Prom Night” featuring Riff Raff and “Hold Up” featuring YG have both earned millions of downloads, radio plays and Spotify streams. His previous album, Since I Was 16, peaked in both the Top 10 Canadian and Hip Hop iTunes charts.
Over the years, Jackson has been awarded eight honours from the Canadian Urban Television Awards. He is co-owner of International Touring Agency, a premiere booking agency responsible for a number of notable tours including Akon, TI, Tech N9ne, ICP, Jadakiss and Fabulous. He is also one of the owners of Canadian Film Collation and 9-0-Nickel Entertainment.
The Snoop Dogg and Friends 25th Anniversary of Doggystyle event will take place on Monday, May 20 inside Rebel (11 Polson St.) with doors opening at 8 p.m. Tickets can be found online via Ticketmaster.
