Our Song of the Day is the latest visual offering from Toronto artist Pressa, as he gears up for the release of his official album debut.
“Pressa delivers an introspective track about the obstacles he’s had to overcome in the streets and the paranoia that he experiences now even though he’s focused on his career more than the streets.” – HotNewHipHop
With his Prestige album set to drop, the Blue Feathers Records rapper returns with a new Ty Black-directed visual for his single, “Longway,” which was produced by Chris Pack.
Growing up in a rough neighborhood comes with risks. But when you have dreams, hope and dedication-paired up with natural talent-there’s no limitations to what you can make of yourself; the young 6ix prince leads by example. In the video he can be seen counselling Lil Wassi, the young brother of Kwasi (Wassi) Skene-Peters who passed away in 2015. The posse cut “Wass Gang” was released as a tribute later that year, and his crew, including Pressa, have been keeping his legacy alive ever since. Pressa commented on the song’s meaning:
“I just want to let my fans know for the culture of music how far I have came from… because its a long-way.”
In terms of when to expect Presitge, we originally expected it today, Feb. 16, but so far it hasn’t hit digital outlets. Pressa tweeted out a picture on Feb. 14 that read: “Go get my new single now ‘Longway’ to a million and I’ll drop my album.”
In the meantime, you can find “Longway” on Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital spots.
In other Pressa news, the Jane & Finch spitter recently dropped a new collaborative single, “Marilyn Monroe,” with Mississauga artist Syph.
