Back with a new single from Ottawa up-and-comer, Sam Hoss.
“I Am,” features another Ottawa-based artist who happens to be his older cousin, Dillin Hoox. The song follows his single debut, “I Don’t Care,” which also featured Hoox on the hook. He enlisted Toronto’s Concrete Films for the “I Don’t Care” video, which also marked his official video debut as a rapper.
We spoke With Sam back in October when the video was first released:
“I’ve been sharpening my sword over the years and it feels good to finally get this out. Thanks to Concrete Films on the video, Hoox on the feature, and Anno Domini on the beat. I’m confident in this record being my debut. Shout out to HipHopCanada too, love you guys!”
It’s unclear if “I Am” will get a video, but there’s definitely a lot of new music from Sam Hoss on the way. Along with some new singles and videos, 2019 should see the release of his first EP or mixtape.
You can find the Platinum Circle Beats-produced “I Am” on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
In other Sam Hoss news, the young MC is already gearing up for the release of his next track. This time Hoss is enlisting both Dillin Hoox and another Ottawa artist named Sir Jax for “Switchin Lanes.” It’s expected to drop on Mar. 9. After a brief hiatus from making music and being part of a rap group in Ottawa, Jax recently released a new solo buzz record that officially kicks off a campaign to release his EP debut, Penelope. You can find the artwork for “Switchin Lanes” further down in the post. Stay tune for more Sam Hoss updates, and check out “I Am” below.
