Savadouchi enlists CJ.Shoots to direct the new “KATANA” video

Savadouchi enlists CJ.Shoots to direct the new KATANA video

Our weekly segment Submission Sundays features the new “KATANA” video from Toronto up-and-comer Savadouchi (featuring Fredericks Reginald). The video comes in support of his Savadouchi’s Project 41 project which came out a few months ago.

“The ‘dark room and flashing lights’ scene represents the inside of my mind. The darkness has me calm, but certain thoughts keep flashing and blinding me. But I’m trying my best to be positive, so that is why I wield the ‘KATANA.’”

SUBMISSION SUNDAYS SELECTION DETAILS
  • Who: Toronto recording artist Savadouchi.
  • What: The new CJ.Shoots-directed video for “KATANA” (featuring Fredericks Reginald).
  • When: “KATANA” is available on various digital streaming platforms including SoundCloud, Apple Music and more.
  • Where: Representing Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario.
  • Why: We’ve been rocking to Savadouchi’s Project 41 project for a minute now and “KATANA” is one song that needed visual support. Him and CJ.Shoots came up with the perfect video companion to a standout track off the 9-track release.

Savadouchi provided some details on the inspiration for the new song and video:

“The Katana is very symbolic to me. I look at it as an equivalent to my pen when I write music. It holds power, discipline and loyalty. I use it to display my emotions, not physically but verbally, mentally & spiritually.

The Katana is what inspired me to write this song because when I felt my most powerful(writing music), is also when I felt the most hate and fakeness. People who I loved are the same ones who are praying on my downfall. I guess jealousy and hate are some of the things that come with being the best version of you.”
