Eight years after making their collective debut as the group 1982, Lawrence, Massachusetts-born Termanology and Statik Selektah return with their fourth collaborative studio project
The Still 1982 album was released on Nov. 23 via ShowOff and ST. Records, and features a gang of dope guest appearances. Chris Rivers and Griselda Ghost’s Conway on the critically acclaimed “30 Shots” single, Ufo Fev on “Haunted,” Nems and Beanz on the Coney Island-inspired “Fuck Ya Lyfestyle,” CRIMEAPPLE on “Crimeology,” Fame of M.O.P. and Haile Supreme on “It’s On You,” Mtume on “Never Let My City Down,” Pro Era’s CJ Fly on “Different Now,” and Kendra Foster on “Still,” which just received visual support a few days ago.
“With Term gliding through Statik’s summery production, he makes sure to stump his adversaries with his elite lyricism.”
The “Still” video was directed by Beldar Conehead (aka @NyjTheOfficial) and shot on location in Havana, Cuba. Grammy-winning Kendra Foster, who hails from Tallahassee, really captures the spirit of the single and accompanying visual support which also shows some love to our friends over at Canadian Tequila company, Siempre Tequila.
The name 1982 is based on the year both Statik and Termanology were born. Termanology – a rapper, born Daniel Carrillo – turned 36 on Oct. 8, and Statik Selektah – producer, DJ and radio personality, born Patrick Baril – celebrated his birthday back in January. The rapper and producer have also released various other solo projects and collaborations with other artists in-between their efforts as 1982.
“Putting on for Massachusetts, Statik Selektah and Termanology drop another solid project as the two release the sequel to 1982, dubbed Still 1982.” – AllHipHop
