Vancouver Island, located off Canada’s Pacific Coast, is the current home of Shawnigan Lake, BC-native Switch, a 25-year-old MC with more than a decade of experience in the game and a solid 10 track projects under his belt.
“My music is about the situations I have been in or the way I feel, it is not all literal of course, but none of it is disingenuous or fake, its my perception/interpretation of the world around me.”
His latest album – the 16-track Dirt On My Hands which features a pair of guest appearances by Morgan Murray – was released independentely on Sept. 1 to various digital streaming outlets including Apple Music, SoundCloud and Spotify.
Just recently, Switch teamed up with director Luke Connor to celebrate Canada’s legalization of marijuana. Shot on the first day of weed being legal, Oct. 17, the visuals for the Richidood-produced “Eighth” feature ample weed smoke, and a stash of fine bud. Switch is seen rolling a series of blunts, while model Megan Micholson prepares one of her own.
“Eighth” – which is slang for a 1/8 ounce portion of a drug, usually weed – is one of several videos released in support of Dirt On My Hands.
Switch has also released videos for “I Don’t Care,” “Nothing But Time,” “Separate,” and “Not Excited,” which came out last month.
