When it comes to up-and-coming Ottawa talent, trap artist THEVFTERPVRTY is definitely someone you need to keep an eye on.
His popularity has been growing at a steady pace, despite not having released new music since November. His performance at Killing Roses yesterday was one of the most entertaining of the evening – the energy was through the roof – and it’s clear that a good chunk of the event’s impressive turnout was on hand to see what THEVFTERPVRTY was all about.
In July, he released his 4-track EP, Rebel, which was a follow-up to the 2016 3-track project, Welcome to the Fall. While the latter is certainly a solid piece of work, his growth on Rebel is apparent, along with the reach it saw publicly.
“I Am The Wave,” which received video support, was Welcome To The Fall’s most successful track with just under 10K streams, while Rebel already has two records with over that amount. All 4-tracks on the EP will give you a scope on what THEVFTERPVRTY brings to the table, but “Rally” and “Japan” are definite standouts.
You can listen to both projects below.
