As his name is really starting to resonate outside of Toronto’s city limits, budding talent Thorobread has officially pulled the trigger on his new EP, Trust Is A Luxury.
The new 7-track project was released today via All Money Is Legal to Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital outlets.
The guest artists and producers involved on this release feel like they’ve known Thorobread, and worked with him for years. The chemistry is just that rich, and it really adds to the vibe of the EP as a whole. Producers on board include the talented D-Wiz, MFTHM, Jazzfeezy, TroubleADX (Trouble Trouble), Mason Taylor, and Pilsbury Beats.
Meanwhile, guest appearances come courtesy of NorthSideBenji (“Death Row” and “1 of 1”), Tory Lanez (“On My Way Up”), Don Q (“Plaga”) and Friyie, who is featured on the project’s title track.
Some fans were probably hoping that this would be a full-length album, but it’s safe to assume that Thorobread has a lot more than the EP planned for 2018.
You might have noticed that some other recent singles of his didn’t make the cut. “Need More” and “F The Politics” have both received video support in the past 6-7 months, but neither song is on the EP, which could suggest another EP (or album) in the works.
If you’re at all familiar with the team behind the music, you’d agree that’s likely the case. The combined music experience of people involved in putting Trust Is A Luxury together is vastly extensive. Even the person in charge of engineering and mixing down the release is an artist in their own right, and someone we’d trust to bring out the little nuances in each mix. Seth Dyer of New Toronto Studios is an excellent choice to take the helm of the boards, while mastering was handled by veteran Mike Smith for Phase One Studios. And that’s not to mention the contributions made by Thoro’s co-Executive Producer, The CEO.
All-in-all, Trust Is A Luxury is game-changing release for this Toronto artist that is sure to lead him to new opportunities. So far Thorobread has released just one video in support of the project – “Death Row” (which was paired with “6 Hell)” – but we’re expecting at least one more to come out in the near future.
