Tory Lanez has won the Rap Recording of the Year award at the 2018 JUNO Awards taking place this evening in Vancouver.
Tory won the award for his C-Sick produced record, “Shooters,” which was originally released on Sept 22. 2017. It served as the official first single to his latest album, Memories Don’t Die, which came out at the beginning of March.
The Other nominees in the category includes Belly for the Mumble Rap project, Clairmont The Second for Lil Mont from the Ave, Montreal’s Lou Phelps for 001: Experiments, and Maestro Fresh Wes for his latest project, Coach Fresh.
A few days ago it came to light that the Nicki Minaj-version of “Shooters” had been leaked. Minaj was originally slated to appear on Memories Don’t Die but a misunderstanding led to it being pulled before the project was released.
