After recently making the decision to focus on his solo career, former ScrapGang member Yogz has released a dope new track called “Hoodie Melo.”
The concept was loosely inspired by Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Carmelo Anthony, and his alter ego ‘Hoodie Melo.’ Anthony earned the nickname after his habit of wearing hoodies (with the hood up ) during his offseason workouts came to light. After some videos of him running drills went viral, the name has taken on a life of it’s own. Even the NBA 2K video game series embraced the character, giving the Hoodie Melo version of Anthony a God-like 98 rating (normal Carmelo Anthony is only rated 84).
The song is the second single to be released off the forthcoming Yogz solo project set to be released in the near future.
The first single was the Blasian Beats-produced “Trip 2 LA,” which came out at the top of the year. You can also find Yogz featured on recent tracks from Sayzee (“Squaww“) and Marcus (“Cory Jo“).
